Since others have had no problems under Windows 7 and Vista, that tends to point to a very minor problem on your machine. In effect the user account is unable to see the serialisation keys because of lack of rights. ( a search for the serial numbers as admin. Maybe KE offhand knows which key the software needs, though it should be easy to find. That tidbit of information about the compatibility settings is highly important. Very very good, you've effectively narrowed it down to a rights issue on the registry entries containing the serial numbers.
